Theory Lessons Available in Calgary Northwest (NW)Music theory instruction is available as private lessons. This instruction can augment the theory that a student is already learning within the practical singing, piano or keyboard lessons at Eden-Smith Music. Alternately, a music student can take only theory lessons, if desired.
Music theory is the study of notational conventions, melody line, composition, analysis, guided listening of selected works, music history, etc. Many teaching strategies (e.g. games, flashcards, use of the 5 senses, use of whiteboards, memory tricks, student incentives, etc.) are employed to ensure that all learning styles (i.e. auditory, visual, kinesthetic) are addressed. These strategies increase the potential for short & long term memory recall by connecting learned concepts into prior knowledge. They also provide ways to engage higher thinking skills within the brain. Higher thinking allows for the problem solving abilities necessary for musical analysis and synthesis. Music Lessons in Northwest Calgary NW
Eden-Smith Music is a music studio (i.e. music school) in Calgary NW offering music lessons in voice (singing), piano, piano keyboard, & theory lessons, along with voice coaching (vocal coach) for beginning through intermediate adult (18 years & older) students.
Eden-Smith Music follows a traditional school calendar. Lessons typically begin the week of Labour Day & end the second to last week in June. The studio (i.e. music school) is closed during July & August for summer holidays.
